The Space Between Two Sisters

In her book “Sistermoon”, artist Siri Kaur presents over 30 years of photographs documenting her family, with a focus on her youngest sister Simran.

Originally from Maine, Siri Kaur was born in a cult. Opening with photos from her mother’s family in the 1950s, the book evokes the photographer’s complicated history with her family. As she left the commune where they grew up, photography became the way to stay close to her youngest sister.
