MYOP: The Pulse Of An Era

"Mes yeux, objets patients. MYOP, 20 Years of a Story in Motion" at Les Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles marks the 20th anniversary of the MYOP photo agency, with a 400m² manifesto-exhibition on the meaning of bearing witness.

Through images spanning war zones, political upheavals, lockdowns, and intimate daily scenes, twenty photographers chart a collective vision rooted in poetic resistance, discomfort, and the need to question the power of narrative and the notion of truth.

In an era of digital overload and algorithmic image churn, the exhibit shows how shared authorship can remain urgent, incisive, and personal. The agency reasserts the photograph as a slow-burning tool of conscience, one that doesn’t just document but “assaults our senses and awakens our awareness”.
