Here are the 12 nominees of the 2019 HSBC Photography Award

For the 24th edition of the HSBC Prize for Photography, 12 photographers were selected by Stefano Stoll, director of the Image festival in Vevey.

Every year, HSBC supports contemporary photographic creation by giving an award to two young photographers who aren’t yet famous. Nominees are selected by an art consultant recognised in the field of photography. In turn, a curator, festival director, photographer or gallery owner selects twelve original and promising artists.

From the poetry of everyday life (Diana Markosian, Nuno Andrade) to the irruption of the incongruous (Simon De Reyer, Marjolaine Gallet, Nick Tarasov) through conceptual approaches (Manon Lanjouère, George Selley), graphics (Paul Rousteau, Dominique Teufen), documentaries (Jérôme Gence, Neus Sola) and the exploration of the male nude (Laura Stevens), this new edition offers a panorama of the current photographic scene, which is as rich as it is surprising.

See you on 19th February to name the winners!
