A Shared Crisis
The exhibition “Poisoned Futures?” brings together the work of Laura El-Tantawy, Gulshan Khan, and Lisl Ponger, three women photographers who confront the global realities of climate change, justice, and survival.
Presented by Hundred Heroines, the UK charity dedicated to women in photography, the show challenges the idea that climate action is ever simple or without cost, calling for accountability in the face of global crisis. While some communities currently celebrate small steps toward sustainability, others bear consequences such as displacement, exploitation, and destruction.

Each artist focuses on a specific point of struggle. Laura El-Tantawy documents the toll women bear for water scarcity in Malawi, Gulshan Khan Khan exposes the human cost of coal pollution and plastic waste in South Africa, while Lisl Ponger critiques the commodification of nature and indigenous culture through art tourism.
