Peter Funch: at the Same Corner

Nine years in the making, Danish photographer Peter Funch’s project “42nd and Vanderbilt”, now a book, focuses on the fleeting, unnoticed patterns of everyday life.

Taken between 8:30 am and 9:30 am from 2007 to 2016 at a single street corner in New York City, Peter Funch's images capture repetitive patterns in movement and behavior. At times the same people, following a certain routine, come back in the editing photographed days, months, years apart.

By categorically editing his photos, and privileging method over aesthetics, Peter Funch transforms the ordinary into reflections on time, self-awareness, public and private space, underscoring how much of our daily lives pass unnoticed.

The book “42nd and Vanderbilt” is published by TBW and available at the price of $ 45.00
