The Sound of Money

Photographer Michael Rababy spent thirty years documenting gambling culture in the United States. The project is now published in his recent book “Casinoland – Tired of Winning”.

The Lebanese-American photographer, who often focuses on American culture and society, pauses on the gamblers’ faces, infinite rows of slot machines and the infrastructure where people’s dreams quickly take shape and collapse.

The series focuses on the casino as a capitalist institution where dazzling bright colors shape a world of illusion, and clients, oblivious, are also part of the show.

The book “Casinoland – Tired of Winning” is published by Kehrer and available at the price of 45 Euro.
