For over 20 years, the La Gacilly Photo Festival in France has been contributing to the vitality of a rural area. It is now recognised as a Major Event by the Morbihan department in Brittany. This 21st edition of the Festival is a continuation of the Festival’s tradition, with a wide variety of photographic works, with a special focus on Australia.
Supported by a team of enthusiasts and invaluable volunteers, and backed by public and private partners, the Festival is a unifying event that succeeds in bringing together photographers, stakeholders and the general public around shared values. Photography is an art to be shared, and the proof is in the pudding: every year, over 300,000 festival-goers discover the talent of photographers at the bend in an alleyway, along a path or around a garden.
The uniqueness of the La Gacilly Photo Festival lies not only in the environmental and social issues it addresses, but also in the fact that it takes place in the heart of a village on a human scale. This year also marks the seventh year of the La Gacilly-Baden Photo Festival, underscoring its commitment to the internationalisation of the festival.
