Peggy Nolan: a Different Style of Parenting
A mother of 7 kids, Peggy Nolan photographed them for 40 years. A new book compiles an unrestrained, chaotic timeline of their lives.
The adventure started when Peggy Nolan was 40 years old, and received a camera as a gift. A former classmate of Lou Reed, she started photographing every move of her children. “Peggy wasn’t like the other mothers”, writes Rebecca Bengal in the essay at the end of the book.
The photographer captured the very moments of a teen’s life that parents are forbidden from witnessing, and that most wouldn’t know how to handle. When asked about teenagers, she replies: “They think they can live forever. The angst, the anger, the excitement, the future, the risk-taking… All of that, I see it. They don’t hide it.”
The book “Juggling is Easy” is published by TBW and available at the price of $ 40.00.
