Ruth Lauer Manenti: Echoes After Death
Photographer Ruth Lauer Manenti’s book "I Imagined It Empty" is an evocative journey through the last days with a loved one, and a meditation on the connections we forge with the spaces we inhabit.
The book was inspired by images the photographer created during the last days of her mother’s life in her house, and it reflects on how homes hold the spirits and memories of those who have lived there.
According to Ruth Lauer Manenti, “My mother rarely let me photograph her except in the last week of her life when she changed her mind. Each day as she approached her death, she became more beautiful.”
The book “I Imagined It Empty” is published by Editorial RM, PHREE and Ediciones Posibles, and available at the price of 35 Euro.
