Siân Davey: A Decade of Photography
The Martin Parr Foundation in Bristol presents "The Creative Body: Photographs 2014 – 2024," the first survey exhibition of photographer Siân Davey’s work, bringing together projects where she captures family bonds and personal transformation.
Siân Davey’s three major series offer an evocative exploration of human connection. “Looking for Alice” challenges societal perceptions of Down syndrome, “Martha” examines the complexities of adolescence, and “The Garden” originates from a ritual linked to healing, through joy, interconnectedness, yearning, sexuality, and defiance.

The artist’s background in psychotherapy has given her a unique perspective, “As a psychotherapist I have listened to many stories. What has been revealed to me after 15 years of practice is not how different we are to one another but rather how alike we are. It is what we share that is significant. The stories vary but we all share the same emotions”
