David Hurn: 70 Years of Poetry

RRB Photobooks presents David Hurn’s book “Photographs 1955-2022”, which gathers the best of his work from London, Wales, the United States, Hungary and everywhere in between.

A self-taught practitioner, David Hurn became one of the most regarded British documentary photographers for his documentation of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, standing out because of a strong empathy for a variety of human conditions and an impeccable compositional style.

Alternating engaged topics like the British and American social revolution of the 1960s and lighter work on the most iconic personality of music and film, like The Beatles, Sean Connery, and Jane Fonda, David Hurn’s 70-year-long career left a strong footprint, influencing generations of photographers also through the School for Documentary Photography he set up in Newport, Wales.
