Approche, the Experimentation Trade Show
Since its first edition in 2017, Approche has been dedicated to showcasing the new and multiple languages of experimental photography. From the very essence of the photographic medium to collage and photomontage.
These are collages in the work of Japanese artist Kensuke Koike, who creates one-of-a-kind pieces by manipulating hunted-down vintage photographic material, with his own singular philosophy of creating a new image composed solely of itself. For her part, French artist Anne-Lise Broyer imagines a new language, blurring our perception by sowing murky zones between silver photography and graphite drawings.

Vuyo Mabheka draws, multiplies and pastes rare photographs of himself as a child and those around him into his naively imaged playlets, recounting moments from his life and imagined situations. It's also about of texture and material effects in Sophie Zénon's unique and experimental Sophie Zénon, which retraces the choreography of the enamellers' gestures.

Marguerite Bornhauser continues her exploration of color and texture, drawing tones from the ends of silver film, whose scans, when superimposed on paint-coated glass plates, reveal the impact of temperature variations on our planet. Kuwaiti artist Ibrahim Ahmed examines the different facets of masculinity, its traditions and representations.
