Black Queer Touch

D’angelo Lovell Williams’ book “Contact High” is a performative inquiry on black queer sexuality and intimate relationships.

The title “Contact High” references the importance of touch, in all kinds of human relationships. Touch can involve sexuality, but first of all it means recognition, empathy, care. Used in a performative way, D’Angelo Lovell Williams’ own body becomes the vehicle for this experience, or the lack of it.

Alone or surrounded by characters who take part in daily life scenes of love, solitude or caretaking, Williams establishes a direct dialogue with the camera, actively questioning the way black queer desire and tenderness have so far been represented.

The book “Contact High” is published by MACK and available at the price of £35.00 GBP.
