Charles Traub’s book "Remembrance of Summers' Past” is an ode to the freedom that the beach allows.

Gathering photographs taken on public beaches all over the world from 1979 to 2006, the book mixes sensuality and irony with a subtle commentary on society. The bodies' partial nudity coincides with the attempt to strip people of any pose, portraying them as spontaneous, and highly relatable.

As the American photographer Aaron Siskind once put it, since his first publication came out in 1977 “Traub has accomplished a miraculous blend of genial acceptance and critical caricature” of that place where everyone is temporarily free.

The book “Remembrance of Summers' Past” is available on Charles Traub’s website at the price of 30$.
