Writing Poems in Images

Belgian photographer Joselito Veschaeve winds together images from his own archive into non-narrative sequences of magical realism.

The title of the book “If I call stones blue it is because blue is the precise word” already invites one into a different dimension, one where time flows alternatively back and forth, and riddles dictate the activities of the day. Turning the pages, then, feels like seeing the world through the eyes of a child at different stages of growth.

An enchanted forest, patterns of rocks, rivers, birds, evoke a world of legends, parables or cautionary tales, where the human beings involved look like they’re trying to solve the mysteries, being part of them at the same time.

“If I call stones blue it is because blue is the precise word” is published by Void and available at the price of 42 Euro.
