Mountains of Ice
Photographer Lorenzo Mittiga shows the beauty, strength and fragility of the threatened land of Antarctica.
Icebergs bear the trace of the wound of detachment. Once they were one, then they became two, then many. Ungainly and random fragments of a single mother : the Earth. Of one father : Ice.

The regions of Antarctica are reacting in a particularly evident way to climate change compared to other areas of the Earth. Today the study of Antarctica and the Southern Ocean provides significant elements to be able to quantify the influence of human activities on global warming, in order to implement possible intervention and correction measures.
