Harry Gruyaert, The Potential of Color

Belgian photographer Harry Gruyaert, a pioneer of color photography in Europe, is at the heart of the exhibition organized by LE BAL, in Paris, from June 15 to September 24, 2023.

Harry Gruyaert is a Belgian photographer born in Antwerp in 1941. After studying film and photography in Brussels from 1959 to 1962, he moved to Paris. In the 70s and 80s, he traveled to the United States, Morocco, India, Egypt, Japan and Russia, where his vision was nurtured. He joined Magnum Photos in 1982.

The exhibition at BAL presents for the first time a wide selection of vintage cibachrome prints tracing the career of this master of color.
