Spiros Soueref’s Homeland

Spiros Soueref is the first prize winner of Meero’s photography contest, a competition entitled Meeropolis and launched among the company’s photographers community, with a focus on the participants’ home.

Photographer from Greece, Spiros Soueref photographed children from the Muslim minorities in Western Thrace, a region close to Turkey where Muslims first settled during the Ottoman Empire.

His project “Between Two Worlds” is a poetic series of suspended moments in the lives of kids whose family culture is different than the Greek one, and whose relatives often migrate to northern Europe to send money home.
