The Atelier Claude de Soria presents photographer Gérard Rondeau’s portraits of artists and their spaces, suggestive of their visions and personalities.
The first event organized at the Atelier Claude de Soria revolves around the work and figure of photographer Gérard Rondeau, who immortalized artists as César, Joan Mitchell, Tadao Ando, Louise Bourgeois, Zao Wou Ki, Christo or Roy Lichtenstein in their ateliers, blending their figure with the surrounding space in a game of mood and associations.

The atelier, its walls, materials, positive and negative spaces, contain hints to the artist’s mental order and creative spark. With this in mind, Gérard Rondeau has photographed Claude de Soria's workshop in 2009, following the plasticity of the sculptural shapes, their smooth and rough surfaces, creating images that tend to evoke the aura of the artist’s presence.
